It was fun reading this book about "Your Hidden Riches" - especially as the New Year starts. I love that it talks about all the principles that I hold dear:
-do unto others as you would have them do unto you
-think about positives happening to you and your family - so they will
-be open to new experiences - i.e.- don't always stay on the same path
If you can consistently practice what is discussed in this book then you can make real and positive changes in your life and for those surrounding you.
I liked the examples that were written as stories and I hope others relate to this book as it was a positive boost to start 2015.
Happy New Year all my favorite people!!

The Essential Bar Book Quick Review so we can get to taste testing
A super cute and fun retro book. Perfect for my Fab 50's redo. Here is all the goods on the book:
The Essential Bar Book is a fun and quick read. There are so many delicious drinks I can't wait to try over the holidays. I love the retro cover and feel to this book. It is insightful but easy to follow along. One of my new favorites.

Reading about Thriving
So I have this book I just finished from Random House - Harmony Books division. It's always interesting to see perspective especially from someone so talented. Here were my thoughts on the whole thing:
What a refreshing view of how to slow down, catch up and enjoy the world around you. Arianna Huffington talks realistically about what it means to work in a super fast paced world as a woman. We challenge ourselves with so much and this book strips the basics out so we can reevaluate ourselves and what happiness means. A great read if you need that jump start on things that you already know to be true. The chapters are laid out so you can move forward to Thrive. This is a nice jolt of non fiction self help.
Check it out and tell me what you think.

Red Wine, Chocolate and Brie
So we have a fun Valentines weekend coming up with parties on Thursday and Saturday - we are lucky to be invited and excited to hang out with our peoples. In my mind though I wanted to have something yummy with wine and cheese when we aren't out and about on the ACTUAL day soooo....... I'm in Trader Joes and WHAT??? Gluten Free flour less chocolate cake! It was in my cart lickety split. And just like that Valentines Day is complete.

What I needed this week
I don't know what I would have done without good ole LL Bean, Hunter Boots and thick socks. The wear quotient on these two items is something WFSIII, aka The Surly Chef, cannot deny. I hope I see my Jack's soon though!
